For All Of You Workaholics

Yes. It’s that time of the year again... FINALS SEASON is right around the corner (can’t you feel it in the air😉)
What do you think about when you think of finals? All of the work, all of the stress and pressure😶Trust me, it’s not fun. But pass all of that negative energy this way and give it all to me because I promise you that it’s ok.Being a junior, I feel compelled and highly qualified to pass on some tips that have gotten me through already 2 seasons of this seemingly impossible time in our lives. But here’s the good news, you don’t have to stress because I’ve already done it for you🤩 (Full Disclosire: I used to be such a worrier until I realized that it’s just not worth it)
So let’s get down to it shall we❗️
1. You gotta get into your own zone
Even if you have to leave the house for a bit or go to a local coffee shop, it’s crucial that you find your spot where you won’t get distracted... Also I find it super neat to call it “ your spot” cause it feels more personal and makes it more compelling to get the job done:)
2.Take intentional breaks
Yes it’s one thing to keep your phone by you and check it once in a while. But I’ve found it wayyyy more effective to force myself to physically distract myself from studying for a short while. Research has actually found that when you give yourself short breaks, you study more effectively👍🏻
3.Get a poppin PLAYLIST
Nothing is more motivating than your own personalized playlist. I highly recommend choosing songs with a good beat in case you need a little solo dance party
4.Get supplies that motivate you to work
I color coordinated all of my notebooks and let me tell you, there isn't ever a time when I don't wanna look at my rainbow notepad:) Even just the simple act of color coordinating or getting supplies that look good really make you feel good and more organized ( and will help with your mental sanity in the long run). My favorite brands include BANDO and RIFLE PAPER CO. (mega heart eyes for those two gems)
5. Put things into perspective
The most important piece of advice that i ave to offer is to look at the whole picture. It's ok to be nervous about finals because that means that you care... But don't let it get to the point where it takes a toll on your mental health. You have to tell yourself that in fifty years, you won't even remember this one test... So don't take it too personally and don't be so hard on yourself. I promise you that you aren't the only one who feels this way so I encourage you to go and vent with a friend about how much you can't stand a certain class;)

Remember to have a good laugh ( trust me it helps) and good luck kiddos,
Xoxo Hannah
